I have been interested in all forms of growing for many years initially vegetables but after becoming hooked by dahlia and agapanthus I now grow a wide variety of flowers and foliage. I am fascinated by the wonder of growing plants from tiny seeds and making new plants from cuttings. I continue to be staggered by the beauty of flowers, the variety of colours and shape.
I initially grew in my garden at home but rapidly ran out of space. I am now fortunate to be able to grow at my family’s farm in the next door village. Headley Flower Garden is a family affair with everyone roped in to help with different aspects.
2020 is Headley Flower Garden’s third season. Over the last two years I have increased the variety and amount of flowers and foliage I grow.
There is growing interest in British flowers as we recognise the importance of sustainability and the impact of our actions on the environment. The wide variety of flowers and foliage we grow supports a wide selection of insects. We try to minimise our packaging and aim that all packaging can either be composted or recycled.
We aim to provide fresh, local, seasonal blooms that are beautiful and fragrant from March to October. We also grow and dry our own flowers which are available July to December.
